The public is invited to join the school board and district officials as they celebrate work beginning on a new elementary school for the Panhandle.
“We’re very excited to see progress on the new school,” superintendent Jonathan Phipps said. “This school is an important step in our addressing the growth in that area, and we’re so appreciative that the people of our county made this school possible when they passed the bond in March 2016.”
The groundbreaking ceremony will begin at 12:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 14 at the school site – 4945 Charlotte Highway.
Parking is very limited at the site, so school officials are urging people who want to attend to carpool, if possible.
The school is scheduled to open August 2018.
