Southside Early Childhood Center transitions to virtual learning

Southside+Early+Childhood+Center+transitions+to+virtual+learning

At this time, Southside Early Childhood Center is experiencing a severe shortage of staff due to CDC guidelines for COVID-19. Because we are so short-staffed, it limits our ability to respond to possible emergencies that may arise and the coverage of classes. To ensure our students and staff are as safe as possible, we are transitioning to a virtual learning model for all SECC students until February 16th. All instruction will be virtual or with packets through February 12, 2021, and all families will be required to communicate with their child’s teacher daily (Google Meet, phone, remind, etc.). Teachers have provided packets and will email links for Google Meet.

February 15, 2021, is a district wide Professional Development Day for teachers and no students will attend.

All students will return to face-to-face instruction on Tuesday, February 16th.

Grab and go bags will be available for pick-up on Friday, February 12, 2021, from 11:00 am-1:00 pm to students enrolled in the Grab and Go program.

As always, the safety of our students and staff is very important to us. Thank you for your understanding and for your continuous support of the Head Start and Early Head Start programs at Southside Early Childhood Center.
