P-EBT 2.0: Pandemic EBT for District students

P-EBT is an emergency program offered to assist families during prolonged school closures

The first payment of P-EBT benefits for 2020-21 will be issued at the end of March 2021. Prior to the issuance of the benefit, Parents are strongly encouraged to visit the DSS P-EBT address portal on or before March 19, 2021 to verify their mailing address. The portal is located on the DSS website at, https://benefitsportal.dss.sc.gov/#/pebt/addressverification.

Once you are on the website, you are prompted to enter a student number, this is the STATE Student ID number. The number can be found in parent portal on the “Student Transcript” tab.

In the event that your student(s) were not found on the address portal listed above, please send a message to pebtbenefits@dss.sc.gov for assistance.

P-EBT 2.0 or the second round of benefits will be an ongoing monthly benefit based on the number of days each child attends school virtually. The first deposit of benefit will cover the months September 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020. New benefits will also be loaded to the same card(s) for the months of April, May, and July 2021.

Please access the following attached document for frequently asked questions for more important information regarding the P-EBT program.

Please note final eligibility is decided by DSS, not the South Carolina Department of Education.
