The ILMS band earned 17 Superior ratings and 3 Excellent ratings at the State Solo and Ensemble contest this weekend. We are so proud of all the students who participated in this contest!
Through all of the events this year (county/region/all-state honor band, Concert Band Assessment, and Solo and Ensemble contest), our school has once again earned the SC Outstanding Performance Award! This prestigious award is the highest honor a band program in our state can receive, and it is an acknowledgement of the great work all of the students did throughout the year. Roughly, only 10% of the schools in our state earn this each year.
This is also the first time in school history that the ILMS band won the award in back-to-back years! Great job to our Warrior Band students, Mr. Skellett, and Ms. Gavigan!
