Ms. Baker's marketing classes are beginning to receive responses to the promotional letters they sent to some of their favorite brands! So far they have heard back from Chick-fil-a Lancaster, Blick Art Supplies, and Kiss (cosmetology products)! Hopefully more responses will come in, so stay tuned!

Breast cancer is a challenging disease that affects millions of individuals and their families, but the strength and resilience shown by survivors is truly inspiring. In a heartfelt gesture, students like Maizy Fritz contribute to this cause by presenting Mrs. George-Miller and Ms. Cauthen with beautiful flowers to honor those who have battled breast cancer, symbolizing the love and appreciation for their courage.

Students in Ms. Baker's marketing class learned about past brands and businesses! They had to research basic information about the business and what led to its downfall! Afterwards they created a ghost and tombstone for each business to display in the hall!

Law Enforcement students got the unique opportunity to interact with Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office Domestic Violence Victims Advocate (VA) Mrs. Shelby King. VA King briefed the students on South Carolina standards for degrees on Domestic Violence, soft skills needed to be successful in Law Enforcement, and the overall importance of being a lifelong learner. Thank you to VA Shelby King for sharing her time and words of wisdom with the students in the Law Enforcement program!

All CTE teachers from across the district met at the Career Center on Monday October 21 for the fall professional development day! Teachers were able to collaborate and work with others that teach the same courses. The goal for the day was to create at least one common assessment all teachers in a specific area could use!

The Career Center hosted all district CTE teachers and industry representatives for the fall Advisory Committee meeting on Wednesday, October 16. This was the first time since Covid this meeting has been held in person. It was nice to be back with fellow CTE instructors and industry representatives to share about our programs and needs in the workforce.
