The Ambush Club’s January presentation was led by Mr. Tyler Hinton, a business owner from Raleigh, NC. Mr. Hinton delivered a thought-provoking talk on the challenges of starting a business, the pros and cons of entrepreneurship, and the power of making good decisions. He also emphasized how today’s habits shape tomorrow’s success, the importance of surrounding yourself with positive influences, and that it’s cool to be you; because being different is a strength. His engaging presentation was impactful and deeply resonated with our mentees. We sincerely thank Mr. Hinton for making the three-hour drive from Raleigh to spend time with us! 🙌

Our Teacher Cadets had an amazing visit to Discovery School! 📚✨

They enjoyed a guided tour with Mr. Rivers, learned all about the school’s enrichment classes, and discussed the upcoming STEAM Festival. 🔬🎨🤖. Our students also saw firsthand how Discovery School emphasizes multiple intelligences and meets learners where they are. 🌟🧠

To top it off, our cadets had the chance to read to students, making connections and gaining real-world classroom experience. ❤️📖

Another wonderful trip learning about the elementary schools in our district - and we had a lot of fun doing it! 😄👏🍎

Wednesday, February 4, 2026 ALL Lancaster County schools, buildings, and facilities will be on a two-hour delay.

Lancaster County School District has carefully assessed campus conditions, including main roads, auxiliary roads, parking areas, and walkways. While many surfaces have improved, some shaded areas still have ice—however temperatures are forecasted to remain above freezing tonight.

To allow additional time for our facilities teams to address any concerns and ensure campuses are as safe as possible for students, staff, and families, Lancaster County School District will operate on a two-hour delay.

We ask all families, staff, and students to continue exercising caution while traveling to school and allot enough time to travel safely.  Keep in mind that a two hour delay is two hours after the school day normally starts. Please avoid areas that may present hazards and be prepared for possible redirection around icy spots upon arrival on campus. We also encourage students to wear appropriate footwear and clothing suited for current weather conditions. Reminder, breakfast is not served during a two-hour delay schedule. The 4K field trip will be rescheduled for a later date.

Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and commitment to student safety as we navigate these conditions together.

As a safety precaution, ALL Lancaster County schools, buildings, and facilities will be on a two-hour delay on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
