GET UP, BIG BLUE! -- The Bruin staff had an exhilarating first day - the perfect balance between building positive, healthy relationships, setting high academic expectations for ourselves and our scholars, and "Living Our Values: School Pride". -- BIG BLUE, GET UP!

On Monday, July 28, LHS staff members Sherri Alston, Dana Dupre, Charisse Witherspoon, and retired LHS educator Michelle Willis hosted an English Department symposium in the LHS library. Their team began the session by introducing this year's library and English Department mantra - We will RISE (Reach, Inspire, Support, Empower). They also provided insight about ELA and literacy standards. collaborative comprehensive research units, and self-care techniques. The participants shared words of enlightenment, which fostered a spirit of collegiality. Get Up, BIG BLUE...it's time to RISE!
