
ALL Lancaster County schools, buildings, and facilities will be on a two-hour delay on Thursday, February 20, 2025 due to the potential of hazardous conditions and possible black ice. We are continuing to monitor the weather, and we will provide updated alerts if there are any changes.

Mrs. Dye is a great member of the Tomahawk Family! She is captaining a unique and special ship on E Hall and she does it beautifully! She is always willing to take on a new challenge and manages to find a place for everyone that comes to the door. She is patient, caring, and empathetic to her students and always takes time to get to know them and figure out the best path forward for each one. She has a true heart for what she does and a passion for seeing the good in everyone and everything. We are grateful to have her on our team!

So much love going around at the 'Burg for LOVE WEEK! We have spread love through donations for the animal shelter, cards for all kinds of community helpers, money raised for Special Olympics, even some food for the food pantry. Pair that with tons of flowers, treats, parties and so many smiles and hugs and you get a picture perfect week! We have loved every minute of it! Check out some of the fun photos from the week! 3rd graders in Mrs. Bressler's math class had a great time gearing up for the Super Bowl! Students walked around and collected data on who each person wanted to win for the Super Bowl. They then turned it into a picture graph and bar graph and then answered questions about the data they collected. Who did they pick to win??? The Eagles!!!

Jessica Walton is a wonderful part of our school family! She is the most supportive, attentive, kind, and sweet lady in the building and always does everything she can for our Kinder friends. C.O.N.G.R.A.T.U.L.A.T.I.O.N.S to our spelling bee participant, Rishaan Yellapragada who represented Tomahawks Nation today and brought home the 5th place prize!! Rishaan was one of the youngest in his division, competing with students in 3rd- 8th grades! He will now go on to compete at the regional level! 3 of the top 5 participants are Tomahawks- one is at ILIS and one is at ILMS! We are so proud of all of these kids!

The American Revolution Experience Exhibit and the Lancaster County Museum has rescheduled January 21st event. Due to travel and weather considerations, Rick Wise's discussion on the Francis Marion Papers has been rescheduled to Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 6:30 PM. The exhibit will be on display at the Lancaster County Historic Robert Mills Courthouse, located at 102 Main Street, Lancaster, SC.


Students and teachers will be taking class photos TOMORROW, Tuesday, Jan 28. Please have your student at school on time and try to avoid appointments that day so your student is included in their class picture. There will not be make up pictures. Order forms came home with students over the last couple of weeks. Thursday, January 23, 2025 will be an eLearning day. ALL Lancaster County schools, buildings, and facilities will be closed. After evaluating road conditions the southern and eastern sides of Lancaster County still contain a lot of ice and slush. Due to the freezing temperatures tonight roads will freeze and conditions will worsen. We will continue to reevaluate the roadways tomorrow and provide further updates. As a safety precaution, ALL Lancaster County schools, buildings, and facilities will be closed on Thursday, January 23, 2025.

Lancaster County School District has been in contact with Emergency Management. Due to the hazardous conditions from expected snow, freezing rain, and sleet with a possible accumulation over an inch we have determined closure is essential. As a safety precaution, ALL Lancaster County schools, buildings, and facilities will be closed onWednesday, January 22, 2025.

The Lancaster County School District Board of Trustees Regular Meeting will still be at 7:00 pm tonight, Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at the LCSD District Office located at 300 S. Catawba Street, Lancaster.
